Our Inspectors

All SENWI inspectors are members of the BCIPI (British Columbia Institute of Property Inspectors) and have been accredited by ( ASTTBC (Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia). Our inspections also meet or exceed the strict BCIPI Standards of Inspection and the institute’s Code of Ethics.

We are proud members of the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and maintain a membership with the Better Business Bureau, meeting both organizations’ code of ethics and business practice requirements.

Our principal inspector, Sean Wiens, completed the BCIPI Sponsored House Inspection Program at BCIT in the spring of 2007 and has been a proud member of BCIPI since Sept 2007. He has an exceptional understanding of building systems design and how this affects the maintenance and durability of building structures. Sean keeps current in the industry by attending industry seminars, technical courses, and continually researching the new products being used in the housing market and new (or old) problems that seem to be prevalent in construction today.

Sean’s background includes a 10-year term as Strata President for a 59-unit multi-family dwelling where he was responsible for performing a majority of the maintenance on the building. During this time, he also worked with the property manager to vet contractors for the larger jobs and to ensure that they performed their duties to the required standards. Sean has also been involved in building renovation industry over the last 2 decades and his jobs include gutting and the complete remodelling of a condo -style apartment under permit in the City of Vancouver.

Sean now stays involved in the construction industry in a casual capacity and has been seen at most of the “neighbourhood” projects in his area lending a tool and a hand. Sean’s passion includes working with various organizations and levels of government to try and improve the minimal codes for building in BC and to raise the standards for home inspections in BC. To do this, Sean currently volunteers with BCIPI serving as the BCIPI Board Secretary and Treasurer.

Senwi House Inspections will meet or exceed the BCIPI Standards of Inspection and the association's Code of Ethics. BCIPI inspectors are currently the only professional inspectors in BC who are certified by a separate body (ASTTBC) outside of the inspectors' association.

BCIPI members are registered under provincial statute with the ASTTBC, a self-governing professional association established in 1958. ASTTBC's primary mandate is the certification of technology professionals in a manner that serves and protects the public interest.
